What we've been up to in the last month or so...

I just realized that I haven't updated in about a month. I'm a terrible blogger! Here's a quick update on what we've been up to!

We upgraded the family car!

It was MS Awareness week and we held a Casino Night Charity Event to help raise funds for our Bike MS. We raised $2400! Thomas and I are still training for Bike MS in June.


Tori and Jordan continue the silliness! Tori was playing with Daddy's new cycling team hat and Jordan was playing with great grandma's new puppy Ringo.



Walk MS is coming up in a few weeks! We can't wait to all walk as a team and family to support our brother Bob. This pic is from our last years team. This year I think our team size will double!

Last but not least...the RSL soccer season has started!! Thomas and I went to San Jose and had a great time. RSL won 3-0! Now its the home opener week and we are all anxious for Saturday to get here! Check out the sweet season tickets for this year featuring our 2009 MLS Champs Real Salt Lake!


One more quick note, Thomas has been racing for team Revolution/Cafe Rio and he is currently sitting in first place in his flight! Congratulations babe!

Update: our quest for Bike MS is going much further than we ever thought!

Thomas and I decided a while back that we were going to start a Bike MS team but never did we think it would get to the point it is now. Our friends, coworkers, and even complete strangers have been very generous to help us organize many great fundraiser events. We started out doing a little blackjack tournament for our friends to help raise some money. Bob's Army raised $600 that night! This Friday, March 12 we will be doing a full casino night! We are expecting more than 50 people to attend and have some fantastic raffle prizes to give away. It amazes me what we can all achieve by putting on our thinking caps and doing a little networking.

I love having a great cause to keep me motivated and knowing that I am helping my brother at the same time!

Training for more than ourselves- Bob's Army!

This year Thomas and I are training for the Bike MS ride in June. However, we are training for more than just ourselves. We are going to train and ride for Bobby! A few years ago Thomas' brother was diagnosed with primary progressive Multiple Sclerosis. It has changed the way he lives his life in ways we can't imagine.

Bob's Army was created in April of 2008. Bob walked all 3 miles of the MS walk and we were all in tears when he crossed the finish line. From then on we knew we wanted to do more than just raise a little bit of money to help fund research. We wanted to show everyone that Bob's Army would continue to grow in numbers and in strength.

Last June Thomas rode in the Bike MS: Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride while Bob and I volunteered to help those riding. It was an amazing experience to see those ride so hard for such a good cause.

So now here we are in January 2010 and Bob's Army is ready to roll again. Some of us have commitments to ride while the rest of us will volunteer. If you would like to join Bob's Army and ride, walk or donate with us, please do! Visit our team website for more information:

We weren't ready for you to go. We will miss you so. You will always be remembered for your love, hard work, and faith.

Your love of the open road and great outdoors will live on through our family. As a great- grandpa you showed your grand kids what fun is and how you are never too old to build something. Your wire cars will always be one of our favorite toys to play with.

You were always kind to anyone who needed help, we don't think we ever heard you say no. You have a heart of gold and the loyalty of a lion. We can't wait to see you again.

Our new family photo

Do you like our new family photo? We are just kidding! Jordan had a project in school where he needed a family photo. So we sent him with his real family photo and then just to be silly we thought we would send this sock monkey family photo. We hope you like it!

Do you DU? Adventures in Pocatello

Congrats to Thomas on finishing his first Duathlon!

We headed up to Pocatello, Idaho for the Endurance Festival last Friday. As you know the drive to Pocatello is very exciting! On our way we saw a dust devil. It looks pretty small in the pic but it was actually very large!

After a stop in Mallad to buy some lotto tix we made our way to Pocatello to meet up with Bob and Kamille. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Port Neuf Valley Brewery and got a nice pint glass and t-shirt. They had some clever names for their beers!

On to race morning. We made our way over to Centennial Park where they had the transition/start/finish area. Thomas and Kamille got their gear ready for the transition for the duathlon while I also left my bike there while waiting for the race to begin. Bob was our cheerleader and photographer. Thanks for taking our pic Bob!


Thomas and Kamille started on the bikes first then I went with my group (the 20k ride). I am not going to lie, those hills kicked my butt! I finished my ride and joined Bob to help cheer on Kamille and Thomas. Kamille finished 3rd in her event. Congrats to Kamille for finishing her first DU. Thomas took 3rd as well in his event! He did great! He looked strong, and intimidating (see his cycling jersey?). I am pretty sure this will not be his only DU. What will next year bring?

Happy Birthday Jordan! You are the big 5! We all can't wait for you to start another year of pre-school. We love you very much!
